My Reading List

September 12th, 2009

Blue Heaven by C.J. Box

Not a Joe Picket story but nonetheless a great mystery with an outdoor setting and an ending that will surprise you.

Genesis by Tim Connette
I read this manuscript that hasn’t been published yet for a friend of Kim.
This mystery takes place in the Denver Colorado area. An exciting look into a serial killer from the perspective of the Denver police department. The book held my interest enough to finish it in two sittings. The end was a definite surprise. “When this gets published”, I recommend it highly.

Winterkill by C. J. Box

Out of Range by C.J. Box

Wyoming adventure at it’s best.

The Shack by William P. Young

Entertaing new look at the Trinity. No matter how you look at it it’s mystifying.

The Loop by Nicholas Evans

Wilderness and mystery and the plight of wolves in the USA made this a great read!

Traveling Light by Max Lucaado

Very inspirational and an interesting read.

The Smoke Jumper by Nicholas Evans

In the great northern USA this story was exciting, sad and educational.

The Divide by Nicholas Evans

Another great story by Evans which takes place in Wyoming/Montana area of the U.S.A

The Horse Whispere by Nicholas Evans

If you saw this movie you’ll love the book even more.

The Soloist movie

August 9th, 2009
I just finished watching the Solist with Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Fox.  After reading reviews of the movie and listening to family and friends say that it wasn’t very good. I beg to differ. This was a very moving movie and the acting was superb!

Move over A Beautiful Mind there’s another grate film about a gifted person with schitzophrenia. This movie made me more aware of the fragile condition of the humand mind. How do the voices start and can they be silenced?

I’ve heard news stories about the sad state of the number of homeless people and even some stories of how they got there. This movie made me aware that they are people with feelings who can be ralated to.

Thank you Mr. Lopez for sharing your friendship with Mr. Ayers!

My Life as a Retired Geek

July 7th, 2009

Welcome to my BLOG.

After 18 years as a successful entrepreneur programming, building web sites, installing networks and managing online education I have finally retired. I thought retirement would be rocking chair easy but my mind won’t settle down. I still crave technology and want to be a part of today’s innovations.

I’ll be posting daily activities, thoughts and aspirations.
